HTMLCompact

The "Input" tab is used to tell HTMLCompact which HTML files you would like to use and define the file type; The interface is displayed below:



"Compress all files in a folder": If you would like to compress multiple files that are located in one directory, choose this option. Either type in the path to the directory, or use the "Browse" button to located the directory. If you would like to select all the HTML files in that directory, you can use wildcards in the mask area (i.e.: *.htm or *.html); If you would like the compress the subfolders of this directory recursively, select the option "Include subfolders".

"Compress following HTML files": This option is designed to multiple files that are located in different directories. Press the "Add" button to pop up the dialogue box that lets you choose the files you would like to compress. You can also press the "Remove" button to delete all the selected files from the list.

"File type": Choose the type of files you want to encode; your options are "Generic HTML Page" (generic web pages), "ASP Page" (web pages containing ASP scripts), "External Java Script File" (external java script files), "PHP Page" (web pages containing PHP scripts), "JSP Page" (web pages containing JSP scripts), "ASP.NET Page" (web pages containing ASP.NET scripts), "ColdFusion Page" (web pages containing ColdFusion scripts) and "Server-side include Page" (web pages containing server side include code). If "Auto Recognition" option is chosen, the file type will be determined by its extension automatically.
