HTMLCompact

The "Output" tab is used to save files after compression; The interface is displayed below:

"Overwrite existing files": When using this option, compressed HTML files will overwrite the original ones. To create a backup copy of the original files before overwriting, select the "Save backup copies in original folder with .BAK extension" or "Save backup copies in following directory" option. If the original files name is "index.htm", its backup file's name will be "index.htm.bak"; If the program comes across older backup files, the new copies will be numbered sequentially (i.e. index.html.bak(1) ). "Don't create backup copies" - No backup copy will be created before compression; "Save backup copies in original folder with .BAK extension" - The backup copy will be saved in the folder where the original HTML file is located automatically before compression. "Save backup copies in following directory" - The backup copy will be saved in a new folder as you specified before compression.

"Copy to the following folder": This option allows you to save the compressed files in a specified folder; press the "Browse" button to choose the directory, or type it in by hand.

"Create new compressed files": Compressed HTML files will be saved with new file names. If the original files name is "index.htm", after compression, HTMLCompact will create "compressed_index.htm".
